Planning to appeal the suspension

It has not been a good week for National Football League Commissioner Roger Goodell. After suspending former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice indefinitely for a domestic violence incident, allegations of a cover-up have been directed towards Goodell. The NFL Commissioner has denied that anyone in the league saw the graphic surveillance video that showed Ray Rice punching his then-girlfriend, now wife, while in an hotel elevator.

Goodell, who has been known as a strong disciplinarian since taking over as NFL Commissioner, took swift action by suspending himself for four games. In a statement, Goodell said that he plans to appeal his suspension of himself. He will preside over the hearing. No one at the NFL could be reached for comment.
